Story 1: 2 stars. I liked the vampire lore of how to become one, but otherwise a snooze. Not much was said in this story and I HATE centuries old vampire sleeping with a literal child (17). Sounds like he was already 25-30 when turned, so double the ick.

Okayyyyy maybe this twist will change my mind! Let’s see what happens!

I don’t know… I don’t like this plot. Vanessa doing this is so wrong, like she could be traumatizing these guys and it could backfire to where they don’t want to date whoever she was prepping them for. I especially hate that she’s doing this for her sister. He isn’t interested in her! He does have past relationship trauma! It’s a romance so I know how it ends and I don’t think she deserves him.

The fact that Anna keeps calling the catfish Ethan is so strange.

Where did the catfish find all this time to message all these women???

Why are these women still talking to the catfish. I will never understand the need for “closure”… like you know the truth now. The person is mentally ill, obviously. That’s it. That’s the closure. Move on.

Ah! Gina was right and British Anna had also called it! That was some expert sleuthing from Gina. Can’t wait to hear what happens when they confront Ethan

I can’t stop listening. I just don’t get how these women fall for the red flags after only a couple weeks of talking. Definitely some self esteem issues there to want to please this person they never even met. Gina’s dream is very interesting. I am eager to know if that’s case or if there’s a plot twist to the catfish.

Girl, the red flags are NEON!!! I’m tired of the push and pull of seeing them and ignoring them. Ethan is such a tool 😭 we don’t need internet literacy to know he’s toxic. I just wanna know how they exposed him and the aftermath

I don’t even feel bad for Anna for getting catfished. Ethan SUCKS. Like all their convos are red flags

Just finished chapter 3 and I’m so confused what Anna saw in their exchanges that she wanted to keep talking to him and possibly meet to date. The messages are full of red flags! They even acknowledge they aren’t really compatible, yet she is so interested in him only based on correspondence??

She seems a bit unlikeable?? Like I felt bad for her as a friendless kid, but she was pretty full of herself and at that age, I would not wanna be friendly with that personality either. Currently seems like a try hard too. Talking about “deadass” and having “delulus” 🤨 we’re kind of not the age group to be using that slang

Why is there so much information on his bodily functions? Details that don’t add anything to the narrative.

Zamora mentioned a couple times that he likes acting and tricking people so I wouldn’t be surprised if this memoir was not wholly accurate.

So, I’m enjoying the memoir but the way it’s written makes me question the veracity. It’s all written from Zamora’s memories from his 9 year old self and it’s very detailed. Anyway, my big question at this point is why didn’t his grandparents or aunts potty train him?? His parents went to the USA when he was 5 and, honestly, that’s already past the typical time to potty train. 😳

Thoughts so far: LOL at emailing his friend they were pooping at the same time. He’s so guileless haha. Interesting that our nameless MC follows “Jordan Castro” and keeps mentioning him (the actual author). I wonder if this book is somewhat autobiographical. I can relate to trying to work on something/get reading done and keep clicking all the social media apps instead lol

I’m between 1-2 stars right now, leaning to 1. Molly didn’t deserve this.

Grace in Thailand is such an idiot. I’d DNF the book but I’m reading it to join a book club meeting in February.

DNF @ 50% due to boredom and too much politics (which I’m in agreement, it’s just A LOT)
