Ty Arthur is on page 45 of 96 of Second Grade Friends Again
Using this for a second grade lesson and wow, the nurse and teacher are being just as awful as the kids about Honey's weight. Not sure how they are going to salvage any sort of decent message for the reader by the end.

Ty Arthur is on page 5 of 24 of Bibliocalypse
This "scry a letter" mechanic is perfect for just about any type of game and it makes everything super simple but still engaging, since you can only use a word once the entire session. I'm going to use this system in dungeons in my son's 2nd grade lessons and just jettison the second page with the Librarian boss stuff.

Ty Arthur is on page 50 of 320 of Player's Handbook (Dungeons & Dragons, 5th Edition)
When 5th edition came out we were firmly in the Pathfinder camp for fantasy roleplaying and never switched back. Noticed my local library had a copy of the PHB so decided to give it a read and see what changed in this edition that's almost a decade old now already.

Ty Arthur is on page 30 of 96 of My Kingdom of Darkness: A Branches Book (Pets Rule!, #1)
Having recently read Klawde, this is some very familiar territory, but Gannicus loves all Branches series so we'll forge ahead. I have to admit Ember (narrowly avoiding the name "Chuckles") is lots of fun as a Chihuahua protagonist, though.

Had the classic LOR red box set as a kid, and was not happy when the announced lineup of adventures was never finished. Stoked to have something oozing proper Tolkien atmosphere that's already got the full campaign story start to finish.

Ty Arthur is on page 40 of 116 of Heidi Heckelbeck Gets Glasses
Gannicus' new favorite series. As I'm reading this, this slowly dawning horror overtakes me that Heidi's going to literally blind herself with magic so people will giver her attention instead of the kid with new glasses. Thankfully, she just pretends to have bad eyesight instead. We love you Heidi, but you are a dumpster fire.

Ty Arthur is on page 100 of 129 of Burrows & Badgers: A Skirmish Game of Anthropomorphic Animals
Great little skirmish game ruleset. More in the vein of Mordheim than Redwall though, in terms of tone and playstyle, despite the valiant looking badger on the cover. Love the campaign chaining together varying scenarios, with plenty of randomized secondary objectives to keep things fresh.

Ty Arthur is on page 75 of 128 of The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid (Geronimo Stilton, #2)
This series is probably fine, but for some reason I've developed a *loathing* of it that's hard to describe. My kid loves it so much. I hate everything about the criminally unfunny cheese and mouse play on words that are as endless as they are low effort. I've been reading extra chapters every night just so we can get it over with and move to something else.

Halfway through the second book and I'm officially not a fan. The endless depictions of spit and dung are actively grating on my brain to read out loud... but my kid loves this book, so here we are.

"You dress like one."
"So do you. Do *you* like men?"

Yeah, she won that exchange, hands down.

New book time series Gannicus found at the library. This is very much in the vein of the Scholastic Branches books so he's a fan.

Ran this for my family way back when it came out, and did it like a season of Lost. Periodically as they found new locations on the island we'd flash back (complete with the actual Lost whooooooooosh sound) and they'd get to roleplay what happened on the boat or what got them on the boat in the first place. Gonna tinker with this and make it into a funny PG version for my six year old to play.

36 years old and just recently discovered I'm autistic. I've been masking my whole damn life. Reading this for me as much as for my son. If you are already familiar with gentle parenting then most of this will feel like "well no fuckin' duh bro," but there's lots of good stuff in here for people still in the mindset that your kid is being an asshole on purpose to annoy you and you should go to war with them.

It only took 16 books, but Rip and Nikki finally just believed Alexander when he said it was a monster instead of going through multiple chapters where they go "No way man, you always think it's a monster. Oh shit, it was a monster after all."

Totally forgot this is done in the Dumas style with the extremely flowery language and multiple page conversations to get to a single point. This must have all gone over my head as a teenager when I first read this book, but right now I'm 100% all in on the gag. 200 pages from now it might get old, but for now I'm cool with reading a horny version of fantasy history written for an elderly noble woman

Why are they dropping half a thesaurus every other sentence? Seven adjectives feels like perhaps slightly more than enough....?

As a teenager I loved this book (I suspect magic being a living, breathing, horny woman was a major factor). As an adult? Greenwood's writing style is not for me anymore. Yikes. Don't think I can finish this.
