I am committed to finishing this book, but only because others have raved about it so much. It helps that I broke down and bought the audio version to listen to on my daily commute. However, the reader really has to like dogs to get through this book!

I wanted to read the book before seeing the Hulu version. The book is fantastic and a real page turner. I'm looking forward to finishing it this week.

The book started out strong and interesting. However, the last third is dragging.

Lila, is not a quick paced read. Yet, neither was Gilead. However, that does not mean this isn't a beautifully written book. Robinson's novels always require readers to slowly think their way through the prose and much larger philosophical and ecclesiastical questions. The beauty in her texts is that these "Big" questions are often posed in the guise of simplicity.

This has proven to be a fascinating read and it is becoming more and more of a page turner!
