some sparring. too on the nose with the Jane Austen/Darcy references. so not needed. I do like this plot line of "who is she (Jane) really?" They did a decent job about talking about the loss of loved ones so far.

as predicted, minus one or two lines about beauty standards & realizing the other person's perspective in a situation (ie Genevieve being jealous of Lela), the story was predictable. The underdeveloped MMC finally realizes he's an idiot and thr FMC is hopelessly attracted to him. 🫩🙄

Breezing through this beautiful novel

It just keeps getting yummier and yummier.

Oh goodness, this book is going to have me packing my bags and heading to Ireland...her writing in this book really is as delicious as her first.

I'm just glad that I am simultaneously watching the TV show Six Feet Under or else I would have no idea what "hearse" and the other funeral lingo meant.

So many side quests man...but so far, an interesting feminist retelling.

I'm gonna have to plan a trip to Hakodate after finishing this book

I feel like I've time traveled to Japan with all of these characters
