That's the ending?

I sincerely hope this will be the last speech I'll be reading in this book.

Ippolit Kirillovich’s speech is going to be the death of me. Why is it six chapters long???whyyyy????

Noo! I did not come this far for this emotional outcome.

Also, I accidentally learned who dunnit. My cousin’s definition of “being subtle” is fascinating 🙂

Finally, the suffering is productive, and things are moving.

Finished Book 6. I understand the point of Zosima’s speech, but its length drained the impact for me. After all these monologues 😩, I’m more than ready for book 7 to bring some action

Just finished The Grand Inquisitor. A chapter where Ivan monologues and I dissociate. Sure, there were a few good quotes here and there, but I had to reread it so many times it took double the effort. Maybe I lack the religious context Dostoevsky is working with, but that chapter alone nearly put me into a reading slump.

This book has absolutely no business being this long for such a tiny plotline.

Fyodor loves looking at himself in the mirror. Too bad he’s never looked inward.

Everyone in this book is unwell. Deeply.

This might go straight to my unhaul pile if I finish it.

I heard this one is super helpful to read before starting Words of Radiance, so… here we go. 😌

I can’t believe I’ve been reading about this funeral for what feels like 100 pages. At this point, I think I’m the one who needs to be buried.

Donna Tartt can write and she writes so damn well. BUT I don’t think Dark Academia is for me. I just can’t do white, rich, pretentious college kids anymore. I see it, I get why it’s popular and loved, but it’s such a slog to read. The tiny bit of mystery is the only reason I’m still here.

Oh wow, this book is absolutely terrible.
