Main character feels the need to state that the sad fate of the little kid he’d been traveling with is very distressing to him even though he didn’t have sex with him (explaining in the same sentence that the reason his female travel mate cum benefits was so close to another female travel mate cum benefits was because they’d had sex - because of course it is! Despite no indication of such in the text.)….

Every woman or female-coded alien(?) / mutant(?) is naked and jorby for the protagonist 😆😅 this book is so unserious

Aaaand we‘ve had our first rape (maybe?) by the protagonist. Amazingly the psychology is the same as the Tiptrew characters in the Screwfly solution but it seems sincere.

Regret to inform you that this is the „breasting boobily down the stairs genre of writing“

I’m blasting through this because it’s so easily digestible and gripping at the same time. Reminded me of Bacigalupi in the world-building but with more sword and sorcery flair.

ML Wang writes men like nobody’s business. Thomil is just husband material. End of.

Jesus Christ it’s so hard reading this knowing exactly what’s happening in the „Otherrealm“. I want to fucking beat Sciona over the head with a book! And I wasn‘t even spoiled. It’s just so very very very obvious… 😫

So far so engrossing. Reads like American psycho with (and for?) pretentious college students. Loving it!

That moment when they mention Montblanc and you’re also obsessed with them…

So far so exciting and much more gripping than the first one. Although she really didn’t need Canthe 🙄 that character is an affront.
