Loving this book! All the history, charm, and beauty of Paris represented in one special street. I’d return to Paris just to spend an afternoon exploring the rue des Martyrs.

Quitting at around page 100 or so. Just can't get excited about it.

I love Richard Ford and think he's one of our great contemporary writers. I'm not sure what page I'm on, but I'm having a hard time getting into this book. The many high reviews have encouraged me to slog on. But "slog on" is exactly what it feels like at this point. The robbery has been committed but the parents haven't been caught. I feel like, "Come ON already!"

This has been re-shelved for the present. How many people read books because they SHOULD have read them? I just can't seem to stay engaged with this one. Does that make me an idiot who can't appreciate the classics? Speaking of which, rented "The Last Station" from Netflix and now I want to read Tolstoy again. Am currently reading and totally engrossed in Jonathan Franzen's "Freedom."
