I'm on hiatus on this. I find it very difficult to keep track of the names in this story. They are Middle Eastern names and there are a lot of them. I have some other books but I expect I'll come back to this.

T B is on page 500 of 612 of Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway
This book is incredibly detailed and must reflect hundreds of days of research. As an example, He cites the exact spot, depth and results of dozens of the bombs that struck the Japanese carriers and how many and tanks of sailors who were lost at different stages of the battle. I’m enjoying it but I’m finding his conclusions about the weaknesses of the Japanese strategies to be less interesting.

I’m now at the early 20th Century. I like the historical facts he cites along the way but, his conclusions about the changes in society don’t mean much to me. That might be because I’ve never lived in England.

This book is well researched and develops all the characters in fine detail. However, there are too many characters with confusing names that I’ve lost track of who is what. I’ve taken a hiatus for a couple of other books. I’m sure I’ll eventually get back to it as the story is important to fully understand.

I'm struggling with this one. I find his moral premises so different than mine that I can't reach the same conclusions and learn the same lessons he does. But I will slowly carry on.

I returned this to the library as it could not be renewed. I will borrow it again, however.
