Janet is on page 127 of 416 of Master Slave Husband Wife: An Epic Journey from Slavery to Freedom
Reading resumed.
(The county library system had so many holds on this book I couldn’t renew it.)
It’s such an unbelievable story, yet its truth and Ilyon Woo’s story-telling skill make it a page turner.

After a long pause, I can resume reading this, because it was under the Christmas tree, for me 🙂.

I’m patiently waiting for a copy through the inter-library loan system. I look forward to resuming this unique printed discussion on abstract art.

Meanwhile I’m blown away by the voices of 19th century pioneer women in the Okanagan, WA. My friend of many talents, Mary Koch, gifted this book of poetry, “How Can I Keep on Singing?” to me when I visited her there in 2015.

Janet is starting Mrs. Dalloway
I’m 50 pages in, and still reading mainly because 1) my sister is reading it with me and 2) I’ve not read anything by Virginia.
It’s heavy on inner dialogue, is good prose, but it’s not a page turner. I’m looking head toward Flannery O’Conner, another girl author I haven’t read.

Janet is 50% done with A Life Observed: A Spiritual Biography of C. S. Lewis
The book is decent, though spoiler warnings should have been put in place up front. Devon Brown includes a lot of content from Lewis’s books, including the Chronicles of Narnia.

I will always be reading this book, it’s that important.

Maybe goodreads can add that shelf and call it: “to keep reading”.

Janet is starting My Blessed, Wretched Life: Rebecca Boone's Story
Squire Boone (my ancestor) shows up in the first chapter to bring dressed rabbits to his brother Daniel’s wife. Daniel has just left on his second attempt to find a way through the Cumberland Mountains, a trip that could take a year.

Janet is reading A Prayer for Owen Meany
Who writes a 100 page, last chapter? John Irving, that's who. I do like this book though. Page 527...and I aspire to finish by the end of this evening.
