Don’t like it

I won't be reading any further

Decided this is not for me. Couldn't get into it. Managed halfway but didn't like the writing style. Learnt some salient points about the army but really didn't find it an engaging enough read.

Not sure I can be bothered to finish this. Not warming to the characters and not sure I care enough about them.

I enjoyed this even if some people don't feel it's a true representation of the country. It still gives an insight to a country I know little about and I found it fascinating.

I enjoyed this book but I don't think it was as good as A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was a bit disconcerting that the book wasn't written in chronological order. Also I felt the inclusion of the Greek section was superfluous and distracted from the main story. However I love the way he draws his characters and the vivid descriptions of the country and way of life and would recommend it as a good read
