It’s mostly easy to read, but I’m bored. I’ve already cheated and read the ending. It’s just gone in a direction I don’t think it needed. So disappointing. This was on my wish list, and my book club chose it for their next read. (thankfully without my input or I’d feel really guilty right now.)

This is American evangelism at its finest: only help if you can convert them to Christianity.

Two bits that annoy me.
1. the authors cite a poor unmarried mother. She eventually had a good mentor who helped and supported her. But she would’ve done better if she’d followed Christ.

2. the authors say they turned down a grant to help poor people because they couldn’t use it to evangelise as well. Say what?
