Just a note to myself: im 8% through and im absolutely enamored with Maia…what a stunning portrayal of a character
The language use with the old english forms is brilliant

I passed the midpoint and in stunned by how dull and mind numbing this novel is.
I never understood how someone could find Fantasy dull and lacking emotion…untill now.
This story is stone, there is no emotion.

Im not saying this one is bad…but im so glad i started this series from book 2 cause that one was so good i am still constantly thinking about it and this first novel is..3 stars and Kip needs to get a grip?

Well i thought the premise of this book was the most fun up to this point but actually this is currently my least favorite in the series by a huge margin
Its not that i cant sympathize with Briar but damn Casey does not deserve to be treated like this man…

There’s a couple typos but the author is a solod writer even if the story def edges more into erotica than romance…i hope the middle bit will be more emotions forward but i def see the quality right now and i do like the pov

Its not because the book is bad but i have lost much interest in it
The couple is together and solid, the case is a very by the book serial killer but honestly theres no tention
The romance should keep me here but the boys are living together in bliss like…what am i here for? Im staying for the Marcus thing rather than the case…thats how u know the magic is gone

I might read this slower than normal…im still not sure if i have read too much scifi and i should wait to jump into this…but ill try regardless before anything and if it takes me a lot whatever

Reading this to close the full series reread i did in 2022…i was so close! But i needed a break :) this is a great way to start my year with a beloved story and a victory in closing that project

Im really confused as to why the synopsis of these books make the reader think we gonna get 2 povs but instead the story its onlu from one? Its also weird in a general romance-books way: only one point of view makes these feel incomplete
They still good! But it is sad they aint better

I was feeling funky, my mood all over the place when it comes to reading and then I remembered I technically sampled this book a couple months ago and now I’m so mad it took me longer than two seconds to do tuck back into it ‘cause I KNOW how flawlessly Psy-Changeling manages to pull me out of not just funky mood but even the most vicious reading slumps! Best choice ever, I’m having a blast! BEARS!!!!!!

Okay so im not gonna mince words: this is awful and i can barely believe it was written by the same author of Afraid to Fly.
Im getting through it for the sake of the series to come but this is costing me my sanity.

If i didnt know this series can be THAT good i would have dnf’ed this book like…at least 300 times by now.

I find that while The Night Circus was dreamlike and romantic, The Starless Sea is much more sensual and feels a bit like greek tragedies do, hopelessly beautiful and doomed…so basically great!

It’s so incredibly tragic and beautiful that the farther from grace Kaladin falls the higher he raises everyone around him…
It’s this terrible and beautiful counterbalance and it only works because he never chases the merit of his fights beyond trying to save his loved ones…

Okay so I adore NK Jemisin’s writing but I have to admit, while reading the short story L’Alchimista I find pretty distracting the mistakes in the Italian sentences and words.
As a native speaker of Italian that learnt many foreigner languages I wonder how is it possible that no one caught them, since it’s extremely basic words, quite frankly google translate would suffice.
