What am I doing with my life?

DNF. The writing doesn’t feel intended for an adult audience

Surprised this got so much buzz

Wanted to like, I have a soft spot for trouples and lawyers with demon problems, but the characters read like teenagers and nothing feels fleshed out

DNF at 10%.

Despite Sandman getting me into comics when I was a teenager I’ve bounced off every Gaiman book I’ve attempted over the years (Good Omens aside). One more try.

DNF. It’s possibly well done, but I feel embarrassed for the characters, I can’t do it

Pace is great, but I feel sorry for the poor dude

DNF at about 15%. Was due back at the library.

DNF 10%. Main character annoys me for whatever reason

This book is a source of great comfort to me

Conflicted. Hate second person but the line level writing is so good

There’s a character with a little Pomeranian called Luli who is her only friend in the world and she loves Luli so much she draws into her comic project. The character gets divorced, spends her alimony money on power dressing, gets a new jet setting career ‘living out of a suitcase’ and the author never says what happened to poor Luli. :( I don’t even care the rest of the world gets killed off with a flu.

Way too many viewpoints, none of which I’m finding compelling. I’m giving it one more night before DNF

I’m going to doing everything Hilary Mantel said for a few weeks because I am obsessed. Apparently she said read this book and do the exercises, so I did the first exercise this arvo and I already feel like I’ve improved. No snark intended

DNF due to writing style, and didn’t capture my interest even tho the subject sounded cool

DNF 30% author did too good a job making the MC insufferable

DNF. Didn’t gel with it after a couple of chapters

Did not get into this one. DNF about 15%
