So far this is the strangest book I have picked up in a while. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing; right now it is just strange. I generally love Dean Koontz's writing style but this is something entirely different.

The communication piece of letting our students in on the purpose of each step changes their perception of the learning experience. If we can build a feeling of shared goals, maybe we can minimize the adversarial relationship between students and teachers. Wouldn't it be better if we all understood that we are working toward common objectives? This shouldn't be revolutionary but it still feels like a paradigm shift.

So far I'm really enjoying this. No spoilers; dogs make us better humans IMHO.

For the first time in a long time, I thought, I wish I was reading this on my Kindle. The writing is strong, but there are lots of words I don't know or don't know well. I forgot how easy it is to look things up as you're going along on the Kindle... maybe I'll pick up the eReader copy. I love having good books in my hand and on the shelf thereafter, but sometimes technology really does make life easier. (go figure)
