“Josh likes yoga instructors who wear yoga pants but doesn’t like it when women wear too much makeup :( . Kristen is not like other women, she’s the cool girl, isn’t emotional, and hangs with the guys!” Did a woman even write this??

The characters and writing is already annoying me. The main character girl is hot without trying, her and her friends prefer cool girl stuff like poker and hunting, not charcuterie boards which “have weird stuff on them.”

This book is magical and cozy and brought back the magic of reading back into my life. One night I couldn’t sleep and was reading this book on the sofa at 3:30 a.m. and was transported to another world within another world. I am scared to finish this book, it’s that good.

Never have I seen a strip-show written with such precision than in the beginning of this novel.

Very good so far but also very stressful/frustrating. What’s more disempowering than reading POV of a young orphan being carted around to various foster homes?

Love it so far. It reads like a story but is actually a series of multiple character studies - each character with a life so rich and interesting.

I came into this book not knowing anything about Constance and I’m sad to say I mostly get mean-girl vibes from her. She talks about how she bullied and traumatized her sister and then somehow made it all about her and her own shame surrounding that relationship. She talks about how she’s a victim of bullying in middle school but slips in that it started because she was picking on her own best friend.

600 page book that could have been 300 or less. This plot takes so many inconsequential side quests. I’m nearly done with it but it couldn’t end fast enough.

I’m only partway into the novel and already shedding tears for something I didn’t even see coming. This is a beautiful novel and maybe I was too harsh in Taylor Reid Jenkins.

Rereading this after having read it multiple times in my young adult years! Totally worth it! The narrative style flows so well, pacing is amazing, imagery is beautiful, and the tone and energy is set so well.

Ugh something really annoying happened and it’s making me not want to continue reading. *spoiler alert* Basically, Stella, who is also on the autism spectrum, is sexually harassed at work, and her boyfriend (Michael) gets *jealous*. Excuse me? Michael asks Stella if she “liked it” when the other man had forced himself on her. And then later Michael initiates intercourse with her to “reclaim” her wtf??
