Absinthe House gave me total Edgar Allen Poe vibes. Chillingly good fun.

Juniper Crown of the Fae was excellent! I have missed good fae stories and this satisfied me. I think fans of ACOTAR and The Cruel Prince will greatly enjoy it. Superb.

The Botanist’s Daughter had a Corpse Bride vibe going on.

She Blooms at Night was a brilliant story about revenants. It was fast-paced, bloody, and enthralling.

Who else is happily snuggling under covers and reading to recover from the holidays? I’m so anxious to get back to reading Monsters in Masquerade!

Why must I life when there are stories to consume like the one I just read?!?! To think that I had to postpone its amazingness for the mundane tasks of life. When you read this, you will adore the way you are lovingly made to learn life lessons, reflect on your own life experiences, feel your heart in your throat as you feel as though you are there, and come through the other end of these few pages changed. Gold.

The second book in the anthology (This is a Witch Hunt by Sami Ellis) is nothing like I expected. I absolutely could not have foreseen how it ended. I’m not talking about the Senator but the actual ending. This story was everything. Back to reading because I am really looking forward to the third story.

I’ve finished the first book in this anthology and am in the second book. I love how different they are from one another. The different writing styles break it up nicely so you don’t feel as though you’ve slipped into a confusing second installment of the same story.

My dad died last week and even though we shared a love of reading, I find it so hard to read right now.

Present day. Finally.

So far, it’s their back story. It’s not bad and it fills in things hinted at in The Predator and The Reaper books. Haven’t caught up to those books though. Amara has only just graduated and moved to Shadow Port (though we now know why she’s banished there and can’t go home).

Let’s hope my book slump is truly over.

What is wrong with me? I’m struggling to get through Phantasma. I’m just not vibing with it but I have no idea why.

Book task I am the worst at of late is getting all my book tracking apps updated and current with one another. Kindle stopped auto-updating Goodreads for whatever reason. My Goodreads isn’t auto-updating any of my other socials, my Bookmory and StoryGraph do not reflect the same books. I need a day where I do admin stuff, but the books. They call.
Anyone else have a thing they’re struggling with?

So far, I am addicted!

I am awful at keeping things updated if I don’t read it through my Kindle or the Kindle app. It automatically registers here and I don’t have to remember to come on here and say anything. It makes no sense since I log it in other apps. Oops. So I’m going to try to catch up over the next few days. Sorry.

Is there a way to change my settings to automatically share highlights and notes in my books on here? Or do I have to manually do each one each book?

I haven’t set a goal yet for the year. I was able to do 150 last year despite taking several months off due to health. Should I do it again? I’m still dealing with health issues. I’m only at 15 for the year so far (though I’m reading some longer ones along with the usual). Should I up it because I was able to make my goal last year? What do you think?

I really need to work on properly recording my books. Going back through the year is going to be monumental.

I just finished Forever Your Earl: The Wicked Quills of London and gave it 4 stars.
