ExpressiveGal is on page 41 of 384 of Every Moment Holy Volume II: Death, Grief, and Hope
This book is more a read and pray as you need. I love the beauty of the liturgies and especially in this volume focused on grief and loss. It gives words to what I find hard to express in the hardship of this season.

ExpressiveGal is on page 68 of 135 of Delighting in the Trinity: An Introduction to the Christian Faith
This will be a book I read over a life time. It is very dense, yet in these pages I see a new the personhood of God the Father, the Son, the Holy spirt. I see why these distinctives matter and how why Jesus is the crux of the difference of “christian faith” and faith in general.

ExpressiveGal is on page 12 of 217 of Three Mile an Hour God
I’ve been wanting to read this book for a year and lately as I feel the need to “slow down”. It’s written by a Japanese theologian that is similar to Watchman Nee (Chinese theologian) I’ve read. He gets to the heart of a lot of deep things quickly, but it reads so easily at the same time.

ExpressiveGal is on page 28 of 160 of Authentic Worship: The Path to Greater Unity with God
I don’t understand worship, but Tozar just describes worship a way that I don’t see in “church”. I just want to worship here and now like worship is in heaven and this little book is such a challenging yet empowering read. I suspect it’ll take me all year to read though.

ExpressiveGal is 15% done with Beholding the Beauty of God
I don’t think I’ll ever finish this book as it’s a book that so eloquently reveals the person, characteristics & heart of God through scripture. I use it to meditate, to pray & to wrestle with God when it “seems” I can’t relate or understand that He is good- He does love & He does fight for justice…

ExpressiveGal is on page 27 of 160 of The Hour That Changes the World: A Practical Plan for Personal Prayer
This book is a precious gem- in so many ways I’ve stumbled into praying, just reading books, asking God to teach me to pray and from great friends how people of faith pray. However, this book is putting into one place all I’ve learned in the trenches of prayer. I can’t wait to finish.

ExpressiveGal is on page 12 of 256 of Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World: Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life
Finished the forward and chapter one. It makes me remember in Deuteronomy how God was like “you can’t live on bread alone, but every word that precedes from my mouth”. Martha may have opened her house- but anxiety, worry, planning got between her and opening her heart to be and eat of what mattered most “the living words of Jesus”.

I’m so excited for this book. For over a year, I’ve just felt the hunger to know Jesus more. I’ve had a great names of God book I’ve prayed through for years and now this year this books feels like that invitation deeper to pray the names of Jesus- the full radiance of the splendor of God.

ExpressiveGal is finished with The Birth of Christ As Recorded In the Scriptures
his was a wonderful compilation of the scriptures. It covered the prophesies in the old testament, the birth of Christ and intermixed the story with new testament verses that described the character and person of Christ. Wonderfully pulled together and reads beautifully. A wonder way to read the Christmas story with your family during the holiday.
