Astounding! I’ve gasped in horror and held back tears…it makes you want to know how to help Bryan Stevenson even if you have no legal background.

Very stalled; the book is adrift somewhere in the kitchen renovation. And I’m more serious about finishing a wild snail eating on my kobo.

I’m enjoying it. I like the distinction between the writer and his cousin Alex; glaringly different. This explains the criticism that other reviewers have posted. I appreciate the in-depth research as it helps to understand the state of mind. On page 107 it appears that Ben is trying to explain how a good person did a bad thing; he’s defending his cousin... not excusing him.

I put this down a year or two ago and haven’t gotten back to it... partly because it’s on a kobo and partly because I’m afraid I will struggle to recall all that’s happened in it. I know I was thoroughly enjoying it and that it was a busy, well-written book. I will try to finish it this year! Fingers crossed.

It took a while to get 'into' it as the first 1/4 dragged. Once it got going it was hard to put down. I often felt like I was lost & missing something; wishing for 'Coles Notes' to reference. Now I can't wait to 'just finish it' so that I can say it is completed. The gossamer thread holding this story together has me feeling indifferent about the revelations that are finally unfolding.

I'm 90% through the book and still wondering where this is all going; feel like I need 'Coles' notes. It all seems so crazy. First I felt like the story dragged (the first quarter) then it became interesting and kept me guessing, and now I just want to be done because I've had enough of the gossamer web that is barely holding this story together.
