Y'all. Why is this so hard for me to finish? Every time I've picked it up I just gap out and end up closing it some minutes later. I went into it not knowing anything about it and I think I've concluded this isn't really my thing... Ugh, but I also want to know happens.

Okay, this is cheesy. So quick with the comments about Mr. Cresswell from the jumpstart about how iNfuRiAtInG he is but how oH-sO bEaUtiFuL he is... Not sure if this will become a DNF but I'm hoping to stick it out because I'm fascinated with JTR so I is v curious. Wish me luck.

Back to reading! What a long break, but this is a good book to help me get back into the flow of things 😊

"I feel seen in a way I scarcely have since arriving at Everless. A strange feeling flowers in me, like I'm standing at the edge of a cliff, looking out to the green-and-blue sea, which I've only ever seen drawn in books, it's waves sloshing and beautiful and endless–and from this height, deadly."

OK. Listen. I'm starting to get REALLY frustrated after reading such adorable chapters kinda leading on cliffhangers, only to jump to the next chapter (or 3) about Nesryn. I DON'T CARE ABOUT NESRYN GO BACK TO CHAOL ALREADY FFS

Okay, wow. Never have I loved or felt so much for a character than I do Yrene. Any time she's sad or goes through something tough, I instantly well up and even shed a tear. Ugh I love her she's such a ball of sweetness and light for my dark little heart

Shadowhunter lovers - HELP! I haven't read the Shadowhunters series, as I can't seem to get past it - possibly because I'm just older now. However, I really do want to read The Dark Artifices series but I feel like I would need to have read the others before reading this. Is that true? Or would I still understand it without reading the past ones?

Guys. I'm really trying but I'm not sure this is for me. I don't like the MC, don't care for the plot but I feel like I should finish it. Blah I'd rather be reading Tower of Dawn!! 😭😭
