I was tricked by the title (Falconer) and the setting (Edinburgh 1844) and thought the fantasy bit wouldn't be so bad (not my genre). But ornithopters? Metal horses? A locomotive built by an 18-yr-old in 1844 who's into engineering? If you like YA fantasy, maybe this will be ok.
