Very thoroughly researched, giving a depth to Grant that had escaped me before. A dense writing style that led to slow progress, but appropriate for the subject matter.
The author seems to have a clear point to make, about focusing on Grant' s good deeds to mitigate his mistakes. I just wish he didn't feel the need to beat his readers over the head with it at the close of nearly every section.
Worth reading.
