“Ruler of the Winds and Sands” — ⭐️⭐️ too much of a basic moral fable for me

“Home Sweet Home” — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ would’ve liked a bit more resolution, but still very enjoyable

“Scars” — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love how some of these are written like deranged fairytales

“Goodbye, My Love” — ⭐️⭐️ didn’t say anything particularly interesting about androids

"The Frozen Finger" — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ a little too abstract at the very end for me

"Cursed Bunny" — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ love when the titular story in a collection is great

"The Embodiment" — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ In a story where a woman gets pregnant from taking contraceptives for too long, the most unbelievable part to me was when she said birth control doesn't require a prescription

"The Head" — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ gross

“The Pitch” — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NOW we’re getting somewhere. Very ominous with just the right amount of infused weirdness

“Lizards” — ⭐️⭐️ creepy…I guess

“Cult of Mary” — ⭐️⭐️⭐️ best thing in the book so far is this line: “And of course we had set ourselves up for this failure, the two of us, for how could any trip, no matter how splendid, bear up under the brutal weight of /last/?” More of this please

“Even when Desmond was at his worst, he wasn’t half as bad as most cops.” Sorry, didn’t you say he best his own son to death? Like yeah, fuck the pigs, but you said that he brutally murdered his son… that has to be AT LEAST half as bad as MOST cops right?

"Talk to Your Children About Two-Tongued Jeremy" — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aside from the weird first person pov peppered throughout, this is the weird shit I've been waiting for in this book
