I don't want this to end, I need a 10-part series. No wait. More than that. It's so well written, I love it.

This series is one of my favourite things in the world and comes with every single trigger warning you can think of. And if you haven't thought of it, Reisz has. She writes very well and as a result her books defy genres. Think dark urban fantasy. Emphasis on the word dark. I have inhaled all her books so far and they are excellent. One of the few writers that makes me cry.

Don't call your citadel Panop when you're writing a story set in a post apocalyptic society. I'm sorry but all I think of now is writing essays at uni about the panopticon and just. Νο.

I love this book so so much. Please read it. Time travelling historian from 2050 travels to 1888; ends up in a boat with a cat, a bulldog, an Oxford don and an undergraduate, searching for the Bishop of Coventry's bird stump. Just. Read it.

Ok but the part about young Roland and Susan is wonderful. I'm talking Thingol/Melian and Beren/Luthien stuff here. I haven't cried like this over a book since Dreams of Gods and Monsters. And the thing that is certain to happen hasn't even happened yet.

I don't want this book to end and at the same time I want to absorb it all, in a moment, by osmosis
