Annoy get through chapter one. Attempt #4 tonight.

Omg there is no sequel yet!!!

A lot of good ideas but very underwhelming character development doesn’t allow me to get connected to anyone and I simply do not care what is going to happen. A pity as I like the world.

if you are 14 and play FPS games this book is definitely for you.

Very different to the prequels which were more about characters and their internal struggles than politics.

It lacks any mystery and internal character struggles that made the previous books so great.

So naive...

Every single sentence has someone’s name in it. There is no flow. “A” said to “B” when “C” etc. At the end it is just a confusing jumble of names.

So far none of the events or protagonist actions have any consequences. Very disappointing book.

So naive so far. Why would any of the sixers actually search for the eggs? To lose their jobs?

Very tedious. I'm trying to care about the characters... but Atwood cannot really create believable ones and there is nothing else in this book besides them. No world building. No suspension. No mystery.

Another possible dnf. The book seems to be good. But somehow is tiring and It is impossible to get attached to any of the characters. The moment you slowly grow accustomed to one and get vaguely interested in the plot it jumps to a different time.
Maybe I'm just too dumb to appreciate it.

So far it is a repeat of the last chapters from the previous book. Almost word for word. At the same time hints to the previous series are left unexplained. What's wrong with you Duncan? I read the previous book more recently than the entire other series.

It is written like notes for a book. Am I supposed to remember the previous series?

Sooo slow. Like all the readers are 5 yo and need everything explained. I'm getting sick of reading pages of explanation for something obvious that was clear in the first sentence....

I'm totally hooked. Love it. The best book I read this year.

Skipping pages. So boring.

It is a struggle to keep going.... Don't give a damn about any of the characters or the plot.
