I’m not sure this book should be listened to. Some of the lists are really hard to focus on when read aloud.

She defines stalking I correctly and it’s odd her therapist doesn’t correct her. Intent does not need to be malicious for the following to be stalking. In fact, many people who stalk do not think they are doing anything wrong and rationalize their behavior as having neutral or even good intent.

It’s super weird (read: unbelievable) that a psychologist would give someone so much information about an assessment and how it is scored before administering the test. With that being said, I’m going to assume there are some creative liberties take to weave didactic information into her memoir.

I love how she honors the wisdom her clients glean from TV shows. It’s such a small thing in a way, but also clearly so valuable for her clients.

This book really doesn’t apply if you have a child over the age of 8. I’ll stick with it though.

There are a few useful bits from the content that focuses on the original culture/families.

I’m curious how much her application truly honors the original idea. Asking a child who is upset “who’s being ungrateful” is kind of shitty. A lot of adults grow up to equate being upset with their parents’ actions as being ungrateful. I question if she took a little creative liberty with the questioning approach.

This book is annoying me beyond belief… I want to give it until the end to officially rate it… but it’s around here that the author fails to acknowledge that “approval” is an external motivator. Just small bit of a icing on the cake.

Onward with this book…

Dammit. I keep looking for books specifically about parenting boys and each one has such a heavy religious tone. I guess I should have researched this author more. Are there any partnering books geared toward boys that are not guided by Christianity? Ugh. Well, I finish everything. So here we go.
