I'm considering DNFing this story. One of the reasons is that Lili is very one dimensional. I hardly feel like I know her or what she thinks. The story is heartbreaking and I just feel like I'm just getting an info dump. I learned a lot from this story but I feel like the characters need more depth. The only thing I got so far is that Esti is courageous, Lili is learning to be braver and they have a strong friendship

Absolutely horrific. Learning that the French were the first Protestants in America seeking refuge from religious persecution and then being slaughtered by the Spaniards for their Protestant beliefs and for the territory is obscene and I'm just disgusted to say the least 💔

although it makes me so angry that the Blackshirts were aiding Mussolini and Hitler. It is good to see how there were Italian people (religious ones) who risked their lives to protect those at risk.

This story is heartbreaking 😞 hence why I have been reading this at a snails pace for so long.

this book is so difficult to read 💔 it's just one horrific thing after another. I don't feel much of a connection to the characters, however the storyline is heartbreaking 😭

I'm tired of the lack of communication & constant negativity, it's very frustrating 🥴 I don't mind depressing or sad literature but this has been seriously dragging and it's getting worse.

I really didn't think Ember should've been included as a POV and involved her with Wren 😒 I wish there was more Lydia POVs 🫤

I'm not enjoying this at all 😞 considering DNFing.

I got up to 116 pages and I'm disappointed 😔 I was really intrigued by the story but I feel like all I've been reading a book are about renovations with a side of romance (I don't like insta-love).

the more I'm reading about the history of the land I live on, the more I wonder why we weren't taught any of this.

What? It went from two people bumping into each other and all of a sudden they...no absolutely not. There were things that were annoying me about this story already and now I'm officially done.

And the fact that he then says "i can't take your..." like how condescending 😒

Love the writing style, the pace but I'm so freaking confused! There is a major info dump and I don't understand WTH is going on...I skimmed ahead and it's still confusing 😔

im not feeling a connection whatsoever...the dialogue is meh 🫤 ill give it to 10% & if it doesn't pick up I'll DNF

this is cute...however there are sooo many POVs that i'm thrown off every time a new chapter starts. ive only been reading this right before bed for weeks and now im not feeling the vibe much...it is Fall 🍂 now after all 😅

it can be repetitive in some parts, the Prince is seriously underestimating Rooke and the lack of questioning is a bit concerning 😩 but im loving the tension 🤌🏻 and the fact that Rooke is such a badass and so intelligent ☺️ has such compassion 🫶🏻 really excited to see how this progresses.

this book is phenomenal...and im saying that while it's at a slow pace...this book deserves more recognition! 👏🏻

i am seriously getting pissed off...how could she not know anything about the Descended at all? who her mother worked for? why she took flame root? the mental stuff is very concerning too...she doesn't believe she does what she does? i skimmed the rest of the book & that's repetitive. the bonus chapter made no sense either. although i absolutely loved the premise of the story, i don't like the FMC at all 😔

This was going really well...it was light and fun but then certain things along the way stopped making sense. Then it stopped making sense altogether. It's irking me so I'm DNFing 😫

ive been having the best time with this! love the adventure, the fact that it makes me want to travel to Utah and the characters.

however in general i don't like dangerous situations and the main characters are embarking on one for treasure & im good cause it's making me feel on edge.

im going to DNF but not because it's a bad book its just me.

i highly recommend this!!! (fyi this is more plot than romance)

this is fun!!! so many unexpected things just keep happening and im having a ball 🌄

i don't know how to feel about this one ...i think Russ and Aurora are soooo sweet but im more than fifty percent through and i still don't have a connection to them or the story....im going to push through because they will be returning to Maple Hills soon so I'd like to see what their relationship looks like then.
