Still very little has happened so far

It feels like I've gotten quite a ways into this book and yet the plot hasn't started

I have to stop right now and come back to this book because it's great but I'm reading too many dense fantasy things at once okay

I understand what another reviewer means when they say that parts of this book feel like they're trying to hit a word count

As a nitpick with the audiobook recording, it's annoying that there are clearly two different recordings being used, which is so obvious because the author's tone is so different in each one but they keep cutting between them

Siuan Sanche really does just use that many fish metaphors, huh 🤣

He writes that Rachel feels this immediate connection with Carleton, but so far I'm wishing they would show-and-not-tell. Carleton actually talks much much more with Nick than Rachel, about school and his injury...

I don't care who Nick is, no one uses 'whom' in a text
