Very cute start to a book! It has a false Victorian quality to it. Super cool how they meld the magical elements into the real world setting so seamlessly.

Fast paced and easy to read. I'm not sure how Jenny and Paul's characters will fit together when they eventually meet, but I'm intrigued. CC is a truly captivating antagonist. I can't wait to read more about RH

The poem was a bit cringy. However the reporter speech was profound

So far I am really enjoying this one. I get the dislike over the "preachy, self-help" feel that tends to get worse as the book goes on, but I really enjoy the premise and the prose are very easy to read. It is fast paced and, with all the different lives the MC goes through, it feels vaguely like an anthology, and I like anthologies!

Really like the way the author shows MC's decent into depression and the format of short, staccato-like, chapters.

I don't like that she will set up a metaphor or allusion and then explain it right after. For example: naming her cat Voltair and then immediately defining who Voltair was. It felt like she didn't think her readers would know the information or get how it related to MC's personality.
