Revisiting one of my favorite books of all time before starting the sequel. Bracing myself for the sobfest to come.

I know I’m in the minority but this book isn’t doing it for me. The writing is obviously impressive but the story isn’t compelling and it has nothing to do with the WWII subject matter. I am just not interested in these characters or the plot at all. I am STRUGGLING through this.

It’s happening…I’m annotating the series. Here we GO

I have to pace myself or else I’ll read this is one sitting like I did the first time and I’m trying to annotate it during this re-read!!

My favorite book of all time - I’ve been dying to reread it.

Oh now THIS is a GOOD book. 200 pages in one sitting, didn’t even come up for air. Be back in approximately an hour and a half after I finish it.
