He's got it bad. It's quite fun

It's a month since I picked this up so I started again. Ian just broke one of his Wingman rules. He's wondering why this client is special, meaning he's about to change drastically and become the hero we expect him to be.

Many things indicate that this guy loves himself, he's a totally arrogant knob but he'll turn it around. I don't like him yet but I know I will.

Is she serious??? She's about to be raped but because the man is the spitting image of her husband (an ancestor of his) she has an impulse to open her legs for him? Yet again I want to chuck this book out the window.

Is anything actually going to happen? I hope it won't be another few hundred pages of her bemoaning her primitive and unsanitary surroundings whilst describing in detail the preparation and use of botanics. She's had a couple of tongues forced down her throat unwillingly and there's been the odd stramash but blah blah blah zzzzzzzzz

Pg 59 "the stone screamed.... There is no way to describe it, except to say that it was the sort of scream you might expect from a stone. It was horrible" What sort of shenanigans is this?? Stones scream? Wtf???

Let's see what the fuss is about. So far Frank's frequent academic trances are annoying and Claire's doing my head in.

Making people change because you can't deal with who they are isn't how it's supposed to be done.

Fuel-air (dead guy from Cade's military past) "now these assholes are gonna go 28 Days Later on your ass" I love fuel-air, he's dead, but he's Cade's subconscious and on occasion he sees things Cade doesn't AND he's hilarious

"Life is about pain, even if you do build a paradise. That's what I meant earlier, about balance" Doc Clearly to Cade after Cade killed 50 people with his bare hands after taking drugs. Drugs aren't his thing. He doesn't take them or need them to kill. But they sure didn't slow him down either!

Now on Operation Motherland. This is some fucked up crazy shit, it's genius. Absolute genius.

Just finished first book in this collection, School's out. Brilliant. Not for the faint hearted. Brutal, gory, hellish. So well written, excellent characters, such a page-turner. Bring on Operation Motherland!

This is the first non YA book of his I've read. But the Maximum Ride series is a fave (apart from a couple of them that went off-kilter) so I'm expecting good things!

to say your mother wouldn't recognise you if she passed you on the street after meeting her ghost the day before is one of many errors.

repeat, repeat, repeat! how many times does she have to mention the uncomfortable corset? is it necessary to explain every tiny action?

I really wish she would stop banging on about Nikolas' drinking.

An enjoying this as much as the first time I read it years ago. Finding it easier to read too. Bonus!

This is the curse of not being able to leave a series unfinished. The first book wasn't all that bad though so here's hoping...
