Each reveal of information brings more questions & things I still don’t know

I want to love this book so much. I do enjoy the banter & somewhat ridiculousness between characters. This isn’t a quick mindless read though—it takes my full attention to comprehend what I’m reading 🫠😅 And I feel like it’s a little slow getting to the ‘meat’ of the plot. We’re still very much in the introduction.

I’m in the mood for murder. And 2 rival murderers falling for each other? (Don’t worry, they target criminals) I already love these 2 and they’re reverse grumpy sunshine trope.

I needed a light fluffy palate cleanser after Assassin’s Blade & this seems like it’ll be perfect for that. Witches, a magical competition, enemies to lovers, and an underdog—it seems like a fun first September fall read.

Remind me to book a stay at Mackinac Island… I wish I could be there now reading this!

I needed a little palate cleanser before starting on another Elisa Kova book & a western romance seemed to be the right choice. Save a horse, ride a cowboy.

I don’t want to hear about Drew or Hunter’s Hamlet anymore. I get it. Can we move on?

This is my 2nd or 3rd time attempting to read this. I really enjoyed Elise Kova’s Air Awakens, but this does not read the same… I’m not really digging this 1st perspective… I just got Duet With the Siren Duke—the cover is beautiful 👌🏼 & I’m hoping it will be better…

I swear if something terrible happens to destroy this moment, I’ll chuck this book across the room.

They’re fucking adorable—regarding their current back & forth of letters. I love them.

This book has a unique feel to it—it mostly feels like wartime 1940s… with an underlying minimal mention of existing magic (so far) & 2 warring gods that have been awakened… that feels like is inspired by Greek mythology (Hades & Persephone = Dacre & Enva).

I need to know who did it & why
