Isabeau is fabulous. And the way that people want to protect her and minimize her. Because of her blindness.

What did she see on the night she was shot. Who shot and blinded her.

Really intrigued by Ambrose and Pallas' relationship. As well as the way that their abilities seem to play off of each other. Also really wanting to find out about the patient in room B. Will they get that info? If so how?
Are the hotel and the sleep clinic related?
Will A.and P keep things platonic?
More questions than answers at this point.

How many ways can I say that I love this cross between Pinocchio, The Brave Little Toaster, and a night spent in the company of a very irreverent, but extremely intelligent aunt who drinks. Just hit the heartbreaking scene where GIO is captured. I just can't. The gang can do nothing but watch from the safety of an underground bunker.

Drunk skipping down the street with your best friend and her new gay best friend. After competing for attention about the theme and venue of her bachelorette. And this is where you feel the "zing"?

Six chapters in and this book is reading like A somewhat gay version of Sinefeld. But with a job that he actually goes to. Send the life boats!

Both Lucas and Esther are struggling with their faith. But from differing viewpoints. Esther from within the Amish. Lucas as a Englisher doctor.
Their point of contact. Lucas' brother and Esther's former finance Jacob. Now dead.
Esther wants to move forward and heal from the loss of the man she loves. But her sister's wedding and Lucas' reappearance present issues.

Not too sure what to think of the Marsdens. But I do know that it seems as though they are making Skye and her mom the subject of a very weird experiment. Especially given the weird notes from Beatrice. And Freya's work at the phobia clinic. Not sure how to feel about the Woodsens or Lily either. And Site's best friend's reaction to her move was a bit much. Although it is quite obvious with and it came from.

My honest question at 31% in. Can this book possibly get any more demure, tentative and flowery? I hope not. Because even though Lady Moss seems quite capable of spending a year on kissing alone. I can't claim the same patience.
Is this flowery poetic approach.employed because the couple is F\F?

I'm not sure.
There is a lot of hand holding and pussyfooting around. Not to mention the rather tedious and very unnecessary reminders about Niccoletta's past. I went to sleep on this book and woke up half way through and found that I hadn't missed much at all. I'm not too sure if that is a good thing.

I love the way that this book is written. We are made to understand the flaws and strengths of all involved. Yukiko's loss of her mother, twin brother Satoru, and by extension her father, Masaru, to drink.
Don't like the fact that the thunder tiger is named after her dog. But love the relationship.
Not sure as of yet how the appearance of Kin is going to change the dynamic here.
We shall see.

I can't help feeling bad for Luis, Charlene, and even the shell of a front man Medical Examiner, JT. After they were all just faced with the reality that a reanimated John Doe represented. But the fact that JT knew. And did not bother to give Luis a heads up of some kind. What!?

I never thought that I would feel sorry for Cruella. But after learning of her spoiled, vain, absentee mother, And her loving, but still absentee Lord father. I must say that I am most sorry for her.
Especially after the loss of her father and her mother's literal abandonment by her materialistic and vapid mother.

Now at the part where Anita and Cruella are at finishing school.

Theodosia and Drayton soon realize that foul play is the phrase of the day. When they come upon dying pharmaceutical CEO, Reginald Doyle. Bleeding out from a gunshot to the heart. In the middle of his own English-styled bird hunt. At his home, Creekmore Plantation. Making matters worse. The fire in the plantation's main house on the very same day.

This is a really enjoyable but emotionally taxing read. Everyone has secrets that serve to create holes in their lives. That the people around them could so easily fill. If each of them would just get over themselves already and communicate.

So now all the Harper women sans Caitlyn. Are making a practice of denying the feelings they have for the hunky and available men that they have known for ever. Is there any stupidity that these women do not engage in as a group. Oh well...
At least we know that bull headedness is a Harper family trait.

What do you know? The gang's all here. And the secrets are a flying. To the readers that is. Cooper has a thing for Olivia. Olivia is dealing with her PTSD. Caitlyn thinks Olivia hates her. Melody is barely making ends meet. After her husband ran off with the 19 year old. And Juliet is hiding MS.

This book is quite easy to get into. Although the jury is still out on how track the multi-person pic is going to complicate things as time and story progress. Like the fact that each character has secrets. And can't wait to see how revelations and realizations change things.

Still more than a little less than impressed by the Maisie and Niall love story. In as much as it is, or isn't. This late in the book. So far things have been more about plans to kill a certain someone. And the secrets that Maisie, Morgan, and Isabella have managed to keep from each other than anything else. Still waiting for the romance.

Don't know what to make of the love/goodbye scene between Niall and Maisie. It was frenzied, and passionate. But lacked the reckless abandon of two people forced to face untenable circumstances. And the decimation of their happiness.

Much prayed for "upswing" in the plot. Although the circumstances surrounding said plot suck. Fiona has been taken by so easy servants of the crown. Maisie has revealed the truth to Archibald. In a rather satisfying "come to Jesus" moment. And Niall is "up against it" in a no win situation. To save his sister. By killing...

Maddie and Niall have gone from fussing and saving. To eating and talking. To finally, kissing and engaged.
He has no idea that Archibald doesn't like him.
Her family has no idea about his proposal.
Chile!
I don't know.
Still slow as molasses plotwise.
And a little disjointed.

Starting chapter 9. Pic switch to Caroline. Who has been kept away from her son. And is now queen of both Great Britain and Wales. As the much maligned wife of Prinny. While her son Cinaed, is now the captain of the rebel ship The Highland Crown. Things between Niall and Maisie are plodding along. She was almost arrested. Wonder of wonders. He saved her yet again. Sigh!

Things are starting a bit slow in this flashback based politically charged romance. For the most part. We hear more about Maisy's activities with the Edinburgh Female Reform Society. And how they lead her into interactions with Niall, than anything else. And then there is the constant threat of her not so "covert" activities in women's suffrage being discovered by anyone with eyes. But oh well.

This book is definitely getting better. All of the extra characters have been allowed to melt into the background. As the stakes get higher for Camilla and Ayanna. With the villainous Bennett making good on his threat to separate mother and daughter. Despite the best efforts of Shad and the Brotherhood.

Though I really do like Shaz, Camille,and Ayana's story. I find that the story is starting to get more than a little convoluted. With the addition of more characters, and diverging plot lines. With Shaz's family life, life at the castle, and growing law client list.
Kitchen sink much?

This story is charming without being syrupy sweet. Aden is rough around the edges. Without having to sacrifice his intelligence or charm. Miranda is a spit-fire who knows how to keep a cool head. And Captain Vale, is nothing less than the perfect blackmailing villain. Although a wager of 50,000 pounds seems a bit much even for today's standards. Let alone then

So nice to see splintered parts of this family coming together to form a beautiful whole. Amazing what changes a little time and understanding can usher in. Loving the fact that Cal has also begun to soften around the edges as well.
As for George...
Got to love her.
As for the spy business?
Well, the jury is still out.
But loving the story so far.

At this stage I must say that I am thoroughly unimpressed by Cal's stomping through the lives of his nieces and Emm. Ordering everyone about to suit his purposes. And trying to put everyone on the shelf all nice and tidy. So that he can go off and play cops and robbers on the continent.
Emm I truly hope that you put him to rights in just as much as you unify the girls and help Dottie. Not that she seems to need it.
