What started as quite a confusing read, kept my interest mainly out of curiosity. The language was needlessly descriptive, or so I thought. But as I read on, delving into the two main characters' back stories which helped shape who they were, I found the author's imagery more and more fitting and appropriately complex. I definitely grew into the book and very much enjoyed the final chapters as the story unfolded.
