i usually don’t have a hard time imagining the world of whatever book i’m reading but i just can’t put a picture in my mind of what all this looks like and it’s so aggravating. like the transvects?? i can’t seem to picture them or the ruins that Vis reaches. the words start to blend together because i simply can’t produce an image in my head.

almost 10 pages worth about killing a fly and putting out a dead rodent

there’s so much unnecessary story telling. even dawns part about her rape and the attack on the boys. all of this could’ve been summed up not almost 10 chapters full.

and the povs are confusing. it’s third and first person at the same time
