It’s fine, I like it but I kinda don’t feel excited about it. I kinda wish it was shorter. I do feel like it’s a more accessible version of cradle

Just finished chapter 20, this one’s a very interesting enigma, despite knowing some of the answers from Gideon the ninth, there are still so many unanswered questions, and every time one question is satisfyingly answered, two more interesting questions appear

Very fun, very light

I really think this book has stuck the landing, lived up to the standards it built for itself through the series

It’s gotten to the point that I’m no longer checking how far I’ve made it through the audiobook, or “punching the clock” in terms of progress. This really is an excellent finale so far

Chapter 20 may be one of the best chapters in science fiction. I’ve read in a long time a serious combination of everything that’s lit up to it.

This one just isn’t as good as the other 3, I feel like some of the magic is missing or maybe it jumped the shark

The storytelling device of interviews after the fact is really cool. I also feel like this book has more to say than just shock value.

I’m having trouble getting into this one for some reason, still enjoying it a lot, but it’s a tougher start than the other 3

I’m hooked, it’s written so beautifully and the plot is so good.

First impression: this feels like if Joe Abercrombie wrote sci-fi, but did it as a single POV.

Already this one is definitely a step back from the previous two entries, it’s slow for sure and has some very confusing timeline elements.

A really interesting premise, and not really what I was expecting. This book is slow-ish, but well paced enough that that doesn’t really matter much. The only “issue” so far is that I’m seeing the twists coming just about a paragraph before they’re revealed.

“We sat idle for so long that the heavens came to clean up our mess” is both a badass quote and kind of a good description of the series

I keep feeling rather lukewarm on this series. On one hand, they’re chock full of interesting world building ideas, and fun side characters. I’m also listening to the audiobook, and Travis baldrees narration is really good. The problem is that it’s starting to feel rather repetitive, and the worst feature is that lindon is not an interesting character. He feels hollow.

So far I’m not understanding the hype, but I’ll give it that the magic system is very cool, and the political machinations are pretty fun so far

It’s really a space opera…. I’m in awe

Every reveal in this book is interesting, and the writing is so rich
