Rereading this gem... I forgot how lovely the descriptions are!

Already tearing up… this is such a beautiful picture of prayer.

Unfortunately, this book will be going in my DNF pile… too much language and political stuff for my taste.

It’s really disappointing because the book has such potential!

While I really like the concept of this book, I’m really not enjoying the amount of language there is in it… Several repeated uses of the “f—bomb” and it’s distracting from the story. Kind of disappointed already, but I’m hoping it eases up soon.

DUDEEEE… that escalated quickly. 👀

This book is so trippy, BUT I LOVE IT. I also love how it constantly keeps you guessing. I’m nearing the halfway point and I still have NO CLUE what’s going on. (In the best possible way! I can sense there are a lot of twists coming.) 👀

So far this book is like a mix between Alice in Wonderland & Cinderella, and I’m totally here for it! 🥰

“I could never agree with either of them. It would have been comfortable, but I could not believe it. Because it seemed clear that wars were not made by generations and their special stupidities, but that were made instead by something ignorant in the human heart.”

What a chilling statement. Little do children know that grownups are just as afraid and just as dysfunctional.
