John is on page 68 of 241 of The Right to Sex: Feminism in the Twenty-First Century
Some of the components of these essays are good, and some feel unfortunately basic or imbalanced. The author does a decent-ish job of citing Black feminist authors, but there are a lot of moments and statements that don't take into account transness and its impact on gender and sex, and inaccuracies (such as calling all yaoi porn by and for women) that make it feel limited.

That part where Poppy is like "Don't you dare check out on me now!" is the fiercest shit in context of the most erotic first sex scene.

Taking this slow because (1) depression and (2) it's excellent and exactly what I wanted. So fun, so spooky, and the demon sex is 👌🏼 I think readers who want an adult/new adult erotic romance that feels like a grown up Morganville Vampires/House of Night vibe would enjoy this.

Bailey from TikTok convinced me to read this series and I am HOOKED. It's very white cishet so expect those issues and trappings (Diego's writing in particular feels very stereotypical).

Also, I wish it was much gayer bc Orion and Darius could really throw it back.

(Actual page count: 328) What you'd expect so far: cute, predictable, fluffy, etc. I'm a sucker for witch books - they remind me of Sabrina.

Wells is one of the only authors I know to write a book that feels fast-paced at 500+ pages. He doesn't use filler words. The politics, tech, and medical stuff are as intriguing as ever.

I can see why Ashley's writing is addictive. Even when the run-on sentences kill me (KILL ME), I love the voice and the level of passion she has in writing the story.

Wrong edition, but I'm about halfway through and aiming to finish this today. I am quite enjoying it despite the length of time needed to devour it, and Austen's humor/class jabs are in full form.

I need to try and plow through this tonight. Love the humor and nods to historical romance with the added time-travel plot and drama.

Not sure how I feel about what happened with Saadi. Totally unexpected. I'm always surprised at how much I love this series after I think about it.

This series is so fun. I wish I could write something like this - sexy, with meaning, but enjoyable and jokey. I also love that the protagonist is smart AND learns to allow herself to matter.

I would be so much more impressed with this novel by a 17 year-old girl...if the writing didn't represent the overwriting new writers often have and get out when writing, say, fanfiction. Not impressed, though it's certainly a fun story amid the words.

I love this series. The writing is overwritten, the first book was a three-star for me on the first read. There's a lot of pandering and little stuff, but it really does explore the characters as real people. It's also just crack.

"Mr. Cox doesn't have a clue what to do with Meghan. Her very existence embarrasses him. If she were a guy he'd probably murder her and string her fat body up next to the basketball hoop as a warning to others about physical fitness." This. This is EXACTLY how it feels to be overweight around people like Mr. Cox. It brings back painful memories.

This reminds me of a Jodi Picoult novel, but the action is stronger and there's a(n) abortion/life-or-choice type of plotline. As someone who's Pro-Choice, I'm curious to see which direction the book takes.

Hector described his childhood home and I cried.

This series deserves a once-a-year reread on the scale of Emma from Booking Through 365's Gemma Doyle Trilogy reread.

I should love this; the premise packs a punch. The writing just feels juvenile - not so much in clarity (I love a good, concise writer), but in how some of the dialogue and exposition gets handled. We'll see...

1.) This book is creepy as all get-out with a good building of suspense.
2.) There are two Asian characters and one (or maybe two, can't recall the one) African American characters, and none of them are caricatures. Also, that African American character? Totally the male love interest.
3.) 1 + 2 make me a VERY happy camper right now.
