I liked the Dragonriders of Pern series, so was interested in an updated similar story. This one features yet-another coming of age story for a 9YO girl matched with a dragon egg and thereby suddenly 18. The story is fine so far except for all the males in the story being dirty, smelly, etc. The Mary Sue aspects, such as whupping the huge martial arts trainer in their first training session add to that impression.
