Started this on a digital copy, and then Hoopla like scrapped all their Irvine Welsh! The Great Welsh Purge of 2026. Got a copy through the Michigan Electronic Library system. It's an Electronic Library, but the copy I got is in paperback. Go figure!

Saw a drug the other day in a friend's Facebook status that I'd never heard about, and Google says it's referenced in here. What was it called? Lemme check my texts... 4-AcO-DMT. I'll grab my copy and see what they have to say about it.

I'm probably never going to finish this. I get a few pages further and it feels like I've read a full chapter, but really it's just a few pages. The prose isn't at all easy to manage. The dialogue is bizarre. I think if this was set in a less-than-real/more-than-real world it might be easier to handle. I see Finch was in my "currently reading" shelf, too. That could've been fun if it wasn't all detective-y. Blech.

Okay, July 18... what would've been going on special that let me out by 11 o' clock in the morning? Summer... everything's normal during Summer at work! This is very distressing. But I remember it happened. I didn't just grab it on break, I bought it to give myself something to concentrate on rather than come home with my tail between my legs and start bothering Colleen at her computer. Ya know?

I keep bumping into this little paperback every time I pull out my binder full of Magic cards and movie tickets. It was the only science fiction that looked at all compelling one morning when I got let out of work crazy early. When was that? Lemme see...

I finally took this book out from under the bed and put it on a shelf last week.

I really wanted to share a picture of the Phyrexian Librarian here, but it looks like I'll have to wait until I'm actually reviewing something, or be ready to change my profile picture, which I can't do because I'm still very fond of it. Damn, I really wanted to be able to just share the picture. Does Goodreads not support memes? Feels like a meme in an update would be all the rage. Could I do it from my phone?

I'm reading Catherynne M. Valente's first? novel The Labyrinth a little, and its just so many words, crazy combinations of words, with short breaks for dialogue, troubling dialogue! I also have her book The Habitation of the Blessed, maybe without the first the, and it's a little lighter on the crazy combinations of words, but some truly fantastic stuff has been happening, and I don't know if I'm ready for it!

Way too much of the slang from the future, and then when I read the synopsis on like a Jeff Noon specific wiki it wasn't all that exciting in realization than in theory.

This was actually pretty good, I should pick this one up again. In fact: I'm gonna put it on hold now!

I was praising Rendevous with Rama to myself for being so interesting in terms of landscape descriptions and then Ursula K. LeGuin was talking about how important characters are and this one was chock full of characters, but were they characters worth investing my attention in? I forget if Nick read this one. Lemme ask him!

I swear I'll read this someday. Maybe? I didn't read Hummingbird Salamander further than what, the first bit of the first chapter? What was even going on with that one? Someone was following someone's instructions to find a key somewhere? Who were they? It was marketed as an eco thriller? What does that even mean?

Bad start to what sounded like a pretty awesome story. I read the whole Wikipedia summary. I've been reading Wikipedia summaries again...

I think it's pretty clear that Terry Pratchett is not the author for ME.

Foucault's Pendulum is one of the most aggravating books I've ever started.

I'm currently 84 pages into Dreamsnake. It's from 1978. It's about a healer in a post-apocalyptic wasteland who uses snakes to treat people's ailments. I can't post an update attached to the specific title for some reason. What is with things glitching out? General atrophy? I was just in Brazil. This was a problem a few weeks before I left. I thought things would've been fixed by now! What do I pay taxes for anyway?!
