Trigger warnings abound. At the halfway-ish point I am acutely aware of the contrast between the harsh brutality of the story and the tender beauty of the writing.

I won't have time to finish this before it's due at the library (where 8 others are waiting for it), so at about the half-way mark (300 or so pages), I'm calling it quits - at least for now. I'm a little ambivalent about this one, despite my eagerness to read it. I've found parts of the story intriguing enough, and yet other parts are a slog for me.

Rereading this beautiful book as one of my students reads it.

I'm really enjoying this one. It's one of those 'stay up too late because you can't put it down' books. I needed one of those right now.

Really pushing myself to finish this book. Not even in 'like' with the characters.

Rereading for the umpteenth time!

On page 6 and I need - really need - to stop picturing Sheldon from Big Bang Theory as the protagonist.
