This book is fucking me up. I’m so anxious and uncomfortable. The whole concept of “The Work” is so messed up and the fact that young children are essentially used as practice fodder makes me sick to my stomach. Kudos to Lex Croucher for creating a world that is making me feel ill and uncomfy.

Pausing for now. The war descriptions are a little much for me at the moment.

Everyone keeps harping on about how clever and cunning Riven is, but I don’t get it. She keeps making dumb decisions.

I’m enjoying this one so much more than the first. Set 20 years after BROOKLYN.

It’s a bit boring so far.

So much has happened and I’m only at 38%??

This is going to be a DNF. I’m not really getting into the characters or story.

I just read this sentence: “My groin boiled.” And I wanted to chuck my phone at the wall.

Ran out of listening hours on Spotify. I guess I’ll finish it in a few weeks.
