Nonattachment means being free from dependence on form, avoiding both attraction and aversion. Detachment can slide into aversion or avoidance, but nonattachment opens up freedom from projected values and expectations like gain or loss. Without fear of gain or loss, one can live in Neutrality, engaging in life without high-stakes involvement. In Taoist terms, life flows naturally, without seeking or resisting.
