Dunham rose to fame in an era where I was too young to do anything about it yet old enough to idolize what “indie” meant to me, and to search for it in others. The vicissitude of self image, self respect, and self belief Dunham experiences are uncomfortable, not for their raw disclosures but rather, for their familiarity.

I’m hooked in, I love this lazy protagonist. I love the Scorpio mention and her obsession with what that means with Inés. Maybe halfway through and she still has not made progress with her record deal, she just fucks around and yearns and feels sorry for her solitude and lack of momentum but here we are- tunneling toward destruction in her affair with her exes new girlfriend.

So far this book is full of drugs, tiny shirts, petty drama, lesbian social politics, and most importantly music. I love it so far!
