Ugh. It’s good.

DNF, plot was highly obvious and I had issues with the main character.

DNF. I found the idea of this rough and tumble, good as any man, female pirate kind of hijacked by the methods the author chose to reinforce her femininity. Also, I found the plot terribly predictable and not in a good way, so I couldn’t stomach reading it further. I might finish it later~

This book. It sometimes feels like it is doing too much but then the "much" becomes a wonderful plot additive and I keep reading.

I am truly shocked with this book. I was VERY skeptical at first and have been nothing short of delightfully enamored with this. So far a wonderful read!

I will admit, I was not too happy with this book at first. Upon realizing the genres of this book, I took another stab at it. I like it a lot more now, especially since I am no longer expecting anything like WL. Now I'm just hoping this isn't a one and done sorta thing, cause I'm kind of invested!

Sweet Valley High meets dragons? I dunno, I read am excerpt that made the setting seem less modern but perhaps that was a different book entirely. Decent so far, I guess.

I was concerned that Allison would spend the whole book in emo mode, but it was handled nicely and she is back to being emotional. Good or bad thing, I don't know but its the perfect foil for Jackal's ruthlessness and Kanin's stoic demeanor. Enjoyable!
