This book is interesting in that it is like a sitcom where I could see it playing in 30 minute episodes. It makes it really easy and fun to read. Jesse Semple (Simple) is a mess, but he will always do things his way. Each chapter is a dialogue between Simple and our narrator, who is very wise and always tries to get reality out in front of Simple- he just fails to bite. And, oh, the consequences. Likable characters.

I adore Ruth Jones, but I had no idea she was also an author. When I ran across this on Audible my first thought was, "I have to have her read this to me!" This was my companion on a 6 hour car ride home, and I just got further an further involved with it. Not quite through yet, but I already don't want it to end.

This is going to go quickly. I like Hughes' Semple character.

This is starting to be hard to put down. I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would.
