Soothing reading before bed.

SPOILER ALERT: First BC book I've read since my DX. A story about the sandwich generation and breast cancer. About the author's DX as a wife with young children when her dad develops bladder cancer. I'm enjoying it because she's funny, it's well-written (she must've been journaling). Most of all, I like it because her dad reminds me of my first boss, a truly great guy, who recently lost his life to lung cancer.

So far, so good. Clever concept. I suspect this will be one of those heartwarming books. But I'm enjoying it so far. It's an easy read and sometimes you need those. If you're a road racing fan, you'll probably enjoy it even more. Courtesy of husband, I've been to many road races, including two Formula Ones and have seen the Ayrton Senna documentary, so I concur with the dog.

I'm not sure what page I'm on but I know I got to chapter 22 and if another chapter starts The Day of the Barbecue I'm going to burn this book. This suspenseful device isn't suspenseful. It's annoying. I don't care about the characters at all and their characteristics seemed to be mixed up. I'm on the fence about ditching this one entirely. Life is too short.
