not super into this but i’ll probably finish anyway

significantly less into this than i was in the beginning

this is not feeling exciting or compelling to me, which totally contradicts everything i’ve ever heard about this book so i have to conclude it’s because i’m reading it way too slowly and i need to regain some momentum

i’m hooked

i’ve been reading almost exclusively British fiction for months and am craving some American stories, especially set in hot climates for summertime vibes

this might take me like 3 months if i only read it at night on my kobo but we shall see

honestly a much tougher read than novels actually written in the regency era for me. it’s very dense but i’m enjoying the story

super interesting. i’m learning a lot

my jane austen-themed july reading is beginning!!

i’m still extremely apprehensive for the horrors that are apparently ahead. so far so good though

really enjoying this, i just wish i had a physical copy! the author is a great audiobook narrator though

really cute, wholesome, and bookish so far

super excited to reread this after 3 years. i’ve read almost all of hardy’s other novels since first reading tess, and in my head it’s still my favorite, so i’m looking forward to revisiting it now with more perspective

not loving this but it’s my pick for the massachusetts center for the book challenge in april so i persevere

this is definitely working for me thanks to my love of stories featuring the British aristocracy during the interwar years (which i owe to Downton Abbey)

okay hannah convinced me to keep going

still not into it and i feel like i’ve given it a good chance

super interesting so far and really helping me understand the complicated landscape that the college students i counsel are facing

i feel this is exactly the book i need right now

my next long, slow read to take me through the spring. i’m convinced i’m going to love this.

okay, now i’m restarting my Hardy readalong for real and i’m really excited about the next few books, including this reread

my audiobook loan is running out so i’m just listening quickly but i feel like i’m going to want a physical copy to reference and reread

i feel like the writing style will bug me but the story will interest me

i’m on track to be done with this in 2 weeks and i’m honestly not enjoying it as much as i hoped i would
