super excited to reread this after 3 years. i’ve read almost all of hardy’s other novels since first reading tess, and in my head it’s still my favorite, so i’m looking forward to revisiting it now with more perspective

not loving this but it’s my pick for the massachusetts center for the book challenge in april so i persevere

this is definitely working for me thanks to my love of stories featuring the British aristocracy during the interwar years (which i owe to Downton Abbey)

still not into it and i feel like i’ve given it a good chance

super interesting so far and really helping me understand the complicated landscape that the college students i counsel are facing

i feel this is exactly the book i need right now

my next long, slow read to take me through the spring. i’m convinced i’m going to love this.

my audiobook loan is running out so i’m just listening quickly but i feel like i’m going to want a physical copy to reference and reread

i feel like the writing style will bug me but the story will interest me

i don’t know if samantha harvey has been to space and i haven’t bothered to look it up, but i feel like she’s been to space. i haven’t been to space either, but i feel convinced.

i was just reminded by another book that someday i will read this book for the last time, which is an awful thought, and i want to read it at least two dozen times before then so i decided it’s reread time

trying to remember if the reason i loved this as a kid was because the main character’s arachnophobia makes me feel seen 🥲

loved this book when i read it as a kid and i had the urge to revisit it. gail carson levine used to be my favorite writer

hard to believe i’m only halfway through. i have been pleasantly surprised by how well the musical adapts the book, and when i lose enthusiasm during the tangents of the book, i find that listening to the musical reinvigorates me to come back to the story.

this is nowhere near as good as the first one, but i’m using it as something easy and lighthearted to read right before i fall asleep. pretty disappointed though.

i swear i’ve read these stories but there’s no evidence i have, unless they popped up in another collection of short stories

i feel like this isn’t striking the same tone as the first one— i hope i’m wrong
