i feel like the writing style will bug me but the story will interest me

i’m on track to be done with this in 2 weeks and i’m honestly not enjoying it as much as i hoped i would

already liking this way more than last time. the vibes are very melancholic downton abbey

excited to jump back into my thomas hardy readalong after skipping the last 2 months!

i didn’t love this on first read 3 years ago but i feel like i will like it a lot better this time

i don’t know if samantha harvey has been to space and i haven’t bothered to look it up, but i feel like she’s been to space. i haven’t been to space either, but i feel convinced.

i was just reminded by another book that someday i will read this book for the last time, which is an awful thought, and i want to read it at least two dozen times before then so i decided it’s reread time

trying to remember if the reason i loved this as a kid was because the main character’s arachnophobia makes me feel seen 🥲

loved this book when i read it as a kid and i had the urge to revisit it. gail carson levine used to be my favorite writer

hard to believe i’m only halfway through. i have been pleasantly surprised by how well the musical adapts the book, and when i lose enthusiasm during the tangents of the book, i find that listening to the musical reinvigorates me to come back to the story.

this is nowhere near as good as the first one, but i’m using it as something easy and lighthearted to read right before i fall asleep. pretty disappointed though.

i swear i’ve read these stories but there’s no evidence i have, unless they popped up in another collection of short stories

i feel like this isn’t striking the same tone as the first one— i hope i’m wrong

possibly my most anticipated read of the year

i’m really not a fan of this author, but his book is assigned to my class. will report back if my opinion changes

the time of the child’s arrival is apparently not until 50% in the morning

really excited that this was assigned for my class this spring so that I can reread it

made it through the 19 chapters entirely about the battle of waterloo. that was rough.

this is very literary and i’m still not really sure what it’s about, but i do like that it’s set in ireland

Utterly different from her other works. I’m intrigued.

I didn’t think I was obsessed with this series or anything but after the last one ended I just really wanted to stay in this world. It’s a surprisingly similar feeling to how I get after finishing an actual Austen novel

planning to read this at a steady pace between now and the end of March… we’ll see

trying this again, but reading physically and at Christmastime vs in the summer on audio

ugh i love the fictional diaries of 20th century british girls

already enjoying this so much more than “Shirley.” a first person narrator makes such a difference

trying to connect with the youths because I never read this in school
