Maybe it’s because I just watched that very mediocre Anne Hathaway dinosaur movie, but why does it feel like these types of stories always make the mother out to be an uptight killjoy out to split up her family? Are most men incapable of writing women kindly?

Reading this because Luke and I are planning to see the movie next week. The writing style is driving me nuts, and all of the very positive reviews seem to be from men, which is not a super encouraging sign, but I am hopeful I’ll like it more once I adjust to the choppiness of the prose.
