I haven't read a Francesca Leah block book in decades. I'm a little confused because when I started this I assumed that it was the '90s. I thought the books were present day when they were released. But early in this book tweentzie Bat says that she was born the day Marilyn Monroe died. In 1962. She's 13 here. It's 1975. I thought that the charm was that it was kind of a magical old Hollywood feel but not the 70s.

The letter, old lady and grief is reminding me of the correspondent.

This is weird it almost feels like a parody. Like she's making fun of her own genre. And the way they talk about the movie star guy I would have thought it was like the 1960s not the early forties when this was published.

I wanted something that was Agatha Christie-like, but modern. Because this was offered to me while I waited for the Lisa Jewel book I wanted, I mistakenly thought it was British. That's okay it made me feel like I should start reading Mary Higgins Clark again.
