I wanted something that was Agatha Christie-like, but modern. Because this was offered to me while I waited for the Lisa Jewel book I wanted, I mistakenly thought it was British. That's okay it made me feel like I should start reading Mary Higgins Clark again.

My biggest issue is the late 90s early 2000 flashback scenes they felt unauthentic to me and I was like this person sounds like they're writing from an experience they didn't have. But I was shocked to find that she's the exact same age as I am. These characters feel too modern. Besides saying "my bad" I don't feel like they talk the way teenagers did.

I'm kind of annoyed that the characters give away the plots to several of the Agatha Christie books I have not read yet.

This book fucked me up. I'm not sure I'll finish it. I have my own community cats I feed. That fear for their safety and realization that you can't save them all is real. I thought a book about Tucson cats would be perfect for me, but maybe this is too close to home.

This one is rough, and I hope it gets edited better before it's released. I'm surprised they even put ARCs out that are this bad.

I was pissed off as soon as she said she got unemployment, gets rent on a property her parents own, and has investments. If she has all this income how does she qualify for unemployment , especially when she quit the last job she had?
