I liked Isaac’s first book a lot. And I’m sure this one will grow on me… but turning a - I don’t know - suburban day’s hike into a metaphor about biblical angels? Overdone.

This isn’t “On the Road.” This is “walking home and getting clam chowder in the snow.”

And the overarching theme of “Johnny Appleseed” is forced.

I hope it gets better.

This is… likely the most “real” thing I’ve ever read from TJ Klune.

Same voice. Same care… but it’s… human. No fantasy. Just us.

It encapsulates love. True love. The giving and taking. It’s hopeful in an otherwise dark world.

I really love it.

God damn, can this man write!

A lot of fun.

I’ve had this book on my shelf for years, but now that the movie is here, I decided to jump on it… and it’s great! Fun. A little funny. Enticing. Excited to see where it goes.

My politics and the politics of the author almost certainly align… but that said, outside of this just serving as a history of what happened as America was destroyed from within (because hopefully this book exists beyond the boundaries of this failed state), it just reads as echo chamber bullshit…

It’s the truth. It makes sense… but fuck does it suck to be here right now. And this is academic dross.

So far, I agree with everything except for the “Lesser of Two Evils” chapter.

I don’t like the current state of US politics. I hate the two party system… but if you did not vote in the last election or if you did not vote for the Dems, you are at fault just as much as the GOP. Fascism is here. People have been abducted and/or killed that would still be here had others come down from their high horses…
